The combination of sun damage, pollution, and natural aging all accelerate the visible signs of aging in our skin and facial structure.

  • thinning skin and elasticity loss
  • fat loss and the natural shifting fat pads
  • muscle and skeletal changes that lead to volume loss

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable substances that can be used to help restore volume in the face with Hyaluronic Acid (HA) (there are also some non-HA fillers).

The HA fillers that are offered at Skin Rejuvenation Clinique are:

  • Juvéderm Ultra
  • Juvéderm Vollure
  • Juvéderm Volbella
  • Juvéderm Voluma

What are Hyaluronic Acid fillers?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide polymer that retains water and is a natural component of the skin -- it gives our skin a natural volume, elasticity, look and feel, but diminishes as we age. Because it's naturally occurring in our body, it is also non-allergenic.

HA fillers can be classified based on two main properties: Viscosity and Elasticity. The high viscosity/high elasticity fillers can give more tissue lifting, contour stability, and be more firm. The low viscosity/low elasticity fillers can be softer and more flowing and are ideal for softer contouring. Once injected, the gel slowly degrades over time and the remaining HA fragments are metabolized.

Common cosmetic uses of HA FIllers

  • Softening nasolabial folds
  • Volumizing lips
  • Under-eye trough
  • Cheek augmentation
  • Hand rejuvenation
  • Ear lobe correction
  • Hollow temples
  • Jawline contouring
  • Chin augmentation
  • Stubborn glabellar lines
  • Droopy eyebrows
  • Non-surgical rhinoplasty

What to expect during treatment

All services at Skin Rejuvenation Clinique are performed in the privacy of a treatment room and administered by a licensed and certified professional. Treatment time is 30 minutes or longer depending on injection site.

Your injection specialist will gently administer small injections that are virtually painless into targeted areas. No anesthesia is required, but a lidocaine cream prior to injections may be used.

Downtime

The treated area may become swollen or red, which can persist for up to 48 hours. If swelling occurs, icing the area is recommended.

How long does Juvéderm last?

You will start to see results immediately. Depending on the type of filler used, the treatment can last 6 to 12 months. Results vary from patient-to-patient.

Dermal Fillers are NOT for you if you have an allergy to lidocaine, glabellar necrosis, or an active infection near the injection site.
